Happy New Year! Most of us left our holidays behind us this week and returned to the office, so it’s probably not just you if you felt a bit blue over the last few days!
With that in mind, we’ve gathered some of the best digital & marketing stories from the last few days for you to enjoy our first Epic Friday of 2015!
London-based advertising agency Thinkbox started the new year in good shape by flexing their muscles – how better to show off their skills than to advertise themselves?!
This ad campaign, titled Harvey and Harmony, shows the main character Harvey going speeding dating to find a girlfriend. When he meets Harmony, the lovebirds go to the cinema, do some yoga, go to the museum, and even have a romantic picnic at the park. Soon, it’s time to bring the relationship to the next level – who wants a puppy?
Most people may think that storage is dull, but IKEA have created an advert which follows a flock of much-loved T-Shirts as they go on an epic journey to find their home. After travelling across seas and mountains, they eventually come to rest in an IKEA PAX wardrobe. The advert is definitely unusual and a bit quirky – though that’s IKEA’s typical style – but there’s a beauty also to this, thanks to the beautiful landscapes filmed for some scenes.
We were all shocked by the horrific events that took place at the Charlie Hebdo offices and elsewhere in Paris this week. While we wouldn’t normally refer to such tragic circumstances on this blog, we must salute Google for their stance in solidarity with the French crowds (and others around the world) who have protested the attacks. The French site for Google, features the now-iconic Je Suis Charlie icon on the homepage.
Finally for Epic Friday today, Microsoft has launched a new technology podcast, and have invited Star Trek royalty and internet sensation, George Takei, as the podcast’s first guest.
Next at Microsoft claims that the podcast will take in the most interesting people to talk about tech. See what you think of the first episode.
